How to Photography Tip for Beginners: Understanding The Rule Of Thirds

11 years 1 month ago - 9 years 1 month ago #274600 by PhotographyTalk
In this short tutorial from 'Mike Browne' you'll learn one of the easiest ways to make a big difference to your photo composition is having a good understanding of when and how to use the rule of thirds. Mike shows you how to frame up your shot after you have divided the viewfinder with two imaginary vertical and horizontal lines so it's now in thirds.

(Success Tip: Take better photographs with this simple deck of cards )

"By placing points of interest along these lines or where they meet, your composition will often be improved. Some cameras have a rule of thirds display grid which you can switch on in the camera menu so you don't have to imagine." - Mike Browne
