Safe to sell on Craigslist with Paypal?

There are so many darn scams out there these days!

So is it safe?

The biggest problem with PayPal is, that in the event of a complaint, they seem to side with the payer, not the payee. That means they will either freeze your account or take the money back. Most horror stories seem to fall into this category.

The great thing about PayPal is making payments, and processing credit cards with it. Which takes any dispute out of their hands.

If you're meeting in person I'd insist on cash. Meet at a bank if you have to.

Nothing is safe, when I use CL, I advertise "Cash Only, NO PayPal" in the ad

OMG Craigslist and PayPal is a big no no, it's hard to tell where the scams start and end there.

*sigh*

No, some of the people that use it are a mess.  Using CL doesn't have to be problematic if you just use your brain and think about what you're doing.

I have acquired a 105 macro and 70-200 f/2.8 VRII via CL (cash), and just got an 85 f/1.8 on eBay (PP), all in outstanding (as in practically unused) condition, at very reasonable prices. Completely happy, and no problems. Because if you are careful, there are bargains to be had out there.

The problem, as is so often the case, is that people seem to not be willing to think.

I use both, but hate to accept Paypal because you just never know.  Gary makes a sound remark about using both with a head on your shoulder.
