Favorite Canon Lens

Just for fun let's start a thread discussing our favorite Canon mount lens ......

* You can only list one (1) lens (your favorite or "go to" lens)
* The lens does not have to manufactured by Canon .... just be a Canon mount
* How long have you owned the lens
* What do you primarily use the lens to photograph?

My favorite is the Canon 500mm f/4L IS. My passion is wildlife photography so this prime lens is always on one of my camera bodies .... and believe it or not I have won a contest with a macro looking bug photograph taken with this lens and using an extension tube!

I'll put the sharpness of this lens and the bokeh that it is capable of against any other.

Next ..............

Mine is my Canon 70-300 IS I bought when I got my EOS Rebel film camera. Would love to have a 500 like yours since I do a lot of wildlife but out of the budget for now.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

The Canon 70-200 2.8L IS II is one fine lens. A great improvement over the original f/2.8 lens .... and that was (is) a very good lens itself.
