I'm new here and just making my rounds.  Actually, just snooping around your boards, and another question jumped in my head.  I hope it's okay to keep asking questions here.  Much of this are some simple curiosities and making conversation with new people.

So... if you would indulge me and share what lenses are you using for your wedding work?

These camera brand forums can be quiet.  You may get more response over on a General Discussion forum.

I'm a Nikon gal, but have been thinking about picking up a Canon 5D Mark III.  I have friends who who shoot weddings and are Canon shooters.  Off top of my head, I know one is using a 70-200mm and 85mm for most of her wedding work.  I think for me, I would be the same and toss in a 24-70mm.

I agree, the 70-200mm is a work horse.  You mind me asking what brings you to Canon?

It's just a thought right now, that same friend has let me use her camera a handful of times and I really enjoyed the feel of the camera.  I've been shooting weddings now for a few years and not really nailed down to any specific brand of camera.  Which ever one is going to allow me do my work the best, that's for me.  * and feel good in my hands.

24-70 2.8 II
70-200 2.8L IS II

Then chuck in an ultra wide like the 16-35 2.8 or f/4 IS
Maybe a macro and a 85mm for portrait stuff.

"Canon" has little to do with it.

There are two camps: zoom lenses and primes. Most zooms fall into the 24-70 & 70-200 cap, with a wide angle prime for large / wide shots.  The prime folks seem to like a 35 or 50, an 85, and maybe a 135-ish type.

Quality-wise, you're talking about the best lens of a given type that you can afford.  The choices are pretty limited.
