Someone suggest a good training DVD or online school for a 8 year old on Lightroom?  Thank you!

Nice, Kelly. Maybe Sesame Street has one. :kmonst:

Seriously. Unless you have a savant, LR is a bit much for most pre-teens. Maybe some basic private lessons.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

Just put the kid in front of LR, point him to YouTube in a browser, and make sure he's got some images to import and start with.

Kids that old go to robotics camp now. I don't think LR will be too much of a challenge.

I wouldn't expect you'd find online photography tutorials to use with Lightroom geared to that age. If you wanted other photography topics for that age range I know of some I'd suggest but not the type training you asked about.

Maybe you could give us more info. on what the 8 year old can do and what he/she'd like to learn. I agree individual tutoring might be an option.

:agree: I was going to say the same.  Just let 'em loose in front of it

Also. I would teach them the same way I have taught others with PS. I set them in front of it, and then show them what the tools, and adjustments do. I merely point to the tools to do the job they want, and let them play with it. That way they learn how the basics work. Then when they get that down, I show them other things they can do to do finer adjustments, by isolating things in images.
