Rich colors only in Photoshop

It seems like Jake Olson is quote popular online, and it is totally warranted in my opinion based on how amazing his pictures look. I was wondering if you could help me reverse engineer his editing process. He said in an interview that he uses no flashes or even reflectors and does all of his lighting in Photoshop. Below is a link to his FB page and I'm referring specifically to the photos done on the country road facing the sunset that are very rich in orange. The model is well lit (with no flash or reflector) so I assume there's quite a bit of very targeted exposure increase on the model. And then just boost the oranges? I'm fascinated by the look of his photos!

Olympus Cameras have a Scene Mode called Sunset that produces out of camera JPGs that look very much like that.
Metering = ESP
Exposure = -0.7 step
Contrast = Normal
Saturation = High
Sharpness = Hard
White Balance = Auto
Gradation = Normal
Picture Mode = Vivid;2

These have been heavily shopped.  A jpeg preset isn't going to get those results.

And now we're back to the original question: how does he do that?

I wouldn't call those rich colors. I would call them orange. <seinfeld>Not that there's anything wrong with that.</seinfeld>

Certainly, what he does, he does very, very well.

haha Nice Seinfeld reference. Yes, orange. I agree he does this very well and I like it a lot. Really stands out. The things that really stand out to me with "how??" are:

• "The" color. Saturation of one color perhaps. Painting in that color?
• The model always has amazing skin tone and unaffected by "the" color. Is that zooming in, selecting just the model, and making adjustments specific to the model? If so, well done!
• The sun behind the model. Usually causes flair and a dark model when not using lights. Wonder if he's blending different exposures to bring back the model while having amazing backlight? 
• With the sun in the frame, I'm sure the camera has a tough time focusing. Yet he nails it with a super shallow DOF. That's tough. Unless his nails it in one of 40 tries.

A little insight on how he works. Not the color answer you are looking for exactly, but it looks like Nik may be part of the answer.
