Why do colors fade when uploaded to the web?

9 years 6 months ago #403561 by Marvel Fan
Every time I upload photos to my Facebook page or web in general, the colors fade and the image doesn't look the same.  Most of the colors look flat.  Is this a Facebook problem or do I need to be doing something different?

Do you use "Save for Web" when you prepare a shot for upload? (in  the File Menu in PS). It may help.

This is a common problem for those that work in the AdobeRGB color space but forget to save their JPG using the sRGB color space. The latter is the only color space supported universally.

If you, per the above, "save for web" you'll get this. But you should learn about color spaces anyway.

Rule: work in a big one (to retain data), save in a small one (because, let's face it, who cares once it's on FB?)

Save for the web did it.  Thank you all.   Geez, why don't they just have that option more noticeable during the saving process.  :)

We don't need no stinking easy ways to do things, we are the Adobes.
Seriously though they are programmers, and as such their minds are only on writing code. I have made suggestions about making certain things easier, but only hear crickets when I do that.
