Problem with exporting photos from Lightroom 5

9 years 5 months ago #408029 by Rob Cline
I'm not sure what is happening or what I might have clicked on.  In the past I have had no problems when exporting photos that have been changed.  What is happening is that I have made changes to 7 photos in question.  Every time I export them, it's exporting the original unchanged files.  None of my presets/changes have stuck.

Why is this?  I'm going to step away from this till I can figure this out.  It's driving me up the wall!

Thank you in advance,

Rob

I usually make Virtual Copies prior to trying out changes.  Then I have to take care that it is the desired VC that I export, not the original.  Another source of confusion, at least for me, is collections.  The original can end up in a different collection from the VC, if I am forgetful.  My brain may be too fossilized for collections!

I unfortunately don't have the answer, but am interested from an education standpoint.

Is the original image a RAW file? Or JPG? (not sure if that matters in answering the question)

It does not.

What is unclear is how the export is taking place: by right-clicking on the selected images, or by using a publish service?

Not nearly enough detail, but I would suggest you go to the develop module, select one of the images, and right-click and export the single image manually, and have it prompt you for the target location. In other words, do every step manually to be sure you know what is happening.

My guess is that the images are going somewhere else, and you're looking at the wrong files.

So strange, when I repeated the process today.  The changes stuck around in the saved/exported copies.  Thank you all for your help.  This was driving me up the wall.
