Leilani - Levitation

Hi, I'd really love some suggestions on how I could improve this image :)

I think you lost the composition balance by having too much white bottom right and pitch black top left. A more even smoke distribution, maybe?
I see colour tone in the smoke, but you focal point is b&w. I'll keep some colour in the girl too.
There is too much contrast in the girl. Her tan marks are too obvious.

Thankyou Hassner, I will give it a go. I think the tan line on her leg might even be the smoke overlay which is easy to fix :-)

What fun !!!  My nit-pick is that it looks like a composite.  The smoke appears to be a simple overlay from a different image.  But I have no clue on how to remedy that.

I like the direction you are going with this, the one thing that jumps out is that right arm looks odd... like it was cut out and placed there after the fact.

Over all... cool!

It looks like she was photoshopped in, I think the processing is too obvious. I don't think the color matches, the background looks rather blue-black while she looks more neutral gray. Seems to need to be blended better so it's fantasy yet believable.

Thanks so much for everyone's comments. The girl was originally photographed outdoors in a forest with an attempt to 'have a go' at some levitation images as I am only a beginner in photography. Below is my original attempt but I thought it looked a bit tacky, so as another challenge I tried to add her to the smokey background.
Trying to take suggestions on board, here's a new edit - maybe it's just time to send her to the trash can and do a proper studio shoot, although I am happy to play around in photoshop attempting to improve :-)

So is this new one another composite?  If so, I would try toning down the contrast in the background.  But the skin tones in the color version are a huge improvement over the B&W.
