Portrait Lens

Right now since I consider my self a beginner I do not have a lot of different lenses.  I was thinking of taking some pictures of my daughter and wondered if there was a specific lens I should use.  I have a 100mm macro, a 300 telephoto and a wide angle landscape lens.

100mm macro is best out of all of those for portraits :)

IMO anything at 50 or shorter is inappropriate for standard portraits. Group shots, yes, but not portraits.

IMO, longer is better. You don't indicate what the largest aperture is, but the 100mm is your best starting point. I like to use my 70-200 f/2.8 because of what it does tot he background, but the longer the lens the farther away you have to be, and that can create disconnect between you and your subject. Not a good thing.

You will find that most serious portrait photographers like an 85 f/1.8 or f/1.4, or a 135 (Nikon, f/2). Larger aperture, more shallow DoF.

Out of what you have, the 100mm would be my first to grab.  If you are looking at buying new, then the 85mm would be great.
