The shadows were just crazy

This was taken in the rose garden at Thanksgiving Point in Utah.  The light was just right to get all the shadows.  CC welcome.

Neat!  Could be a good candidate for a monochrome treatment in post.  Or at least very faded colors.

Make that a bit more contrasty, and play with it a bit more and it will be a lot better.

I really like the textures, shadows and lines in these photo's
It amazes me what we see when we slow down and observe things as a photographer does.

I think I prefer the color best  :)

Nice capture!

Yes.  Of course we are getting into the area of personal taste, not absolutes.  But I think this faded version has a lot of charm.  I would be tempted to now crop a little of the bottom off.  A shot like this can be the basis of many nice variations, both for cropping and tonal treatments.  An exceptional capture you should be proud of.

I think the faded colour one is boring as hell (personal opinion)

The black and white one is nice, but as Takennnn said, it needs more contrast.

Something like this:

Get your blacks to look like ink, and it'll take a life on of it's own.

I do not have access to your raw to duplicate. But play with the levels.

Thank you to everyone for the feedback.  Here is one more edit in
B&W with much more contrast and a slightly different crop

A little bit over the top with the contrast I think. The original needed a little more contrast but not quite to this point.

Love the color version. BW is great because of the shadows and angles but (to me) the color version adds the best of both worlds. Nice work!!

The color doesn't work (either version) because, despite the wonderful shadows and angles, the green (and the brown) distract the eye. Since they really serve no purpose in the image they need to go. That is best accomplished by making the image monochromatic.

As for "inky" blacks, detail is still needed. So don't push everything dark to black, nor everything light to white. Add contrast and use the entire range (black to white) but don't leave too much in the middle range.

IMO.
