Which Lens To Pick

I'm trying to decide on which lens to buy. I am looking at the Canon 50mm f1.4 or the 50mm f2.5 macro. Any suggestions?

Depends on what you are wanting to do with it. If it is just generic shooting then I am guessing the 2.5 will work. If you want a lot of depth of field control then the 1.4 has the 2.5 beat. I did not even know that Canon made a 2.5.

The 2.5 is on the macro lens. Thanks for your insight.

I really like the idea of the 1.4. Is there a macro lens that you would recommend?

In all honesty, a 50mm Macro is too small and 2.5 isn't good for much if your all into bokeh.

I'd get a 50mm 1.4 and then later on get a 105mm Macro.

I'd go with the 50mm 1.4
