Thanks! I never actually think about framing but your right that would work well, with a nice slightly off white mat perhaps

I agree, this would make a great print. I would say modern art!

I'm gonna pick on this shot. Just because it's good. :)

I feel there's too much space on the left and maybe at the top. Crop more.

Also it's a little flat where you want the contrast to be. PUMP the contrast, brush it out where you want details in the whiter parts of the feathers, dodge and burn here and ther and really bring out the feathers.

Then you'll have something artistic you can mount.

Just an Opinion:

Hope you don't mind I did a quick edit to show what I mean.

Can you explain this part: Also it's a little flat where you want the contrast to be. Looking at the photo, I thought it was pretty well dialed in already? Are you talking about sharpening it more?

I basically meant there's not enough contrast and it all looks a bit grey overall in the feathers area.

I see what you are saying, but pulling more whites would make over exposed wouldn't it?

If you are using Lightroom or Photoshop, the histogram tells you everything you need to know about the high and low levels. And LR has a tool (press 'J') to expose where your image is blown out or the blacks are too deep. It's possible to dodge and burn and yet still control the range.

I took the original jpg into LR 5, pushed the clarity to 50 and added a post-crop vignette of -40 and got this:

Mid-range contrast is a Good Thing. I'm not saying that I didn't go too far; I did, but I wanted to illustrate the point that I believe is being made in this thread. You'll note that nothing is blown out here.
