Nikon Professional Services

I was going to sign up for this today and unless I'm reading this correctly, because I own a D7000 camera, I'm not eligible for this program? Really?

That seems like a tough rule that discriminates some users.

You have to own their Pro line of gear & be a "professional" (meaning earning your entire income from shooting) photographer to boot...Your camera & mine do not qualify...No great loss in my book

Even those of us who shoot for several magazines are not eligible because I use D90 bodies and can't get a sniff from NPS. I think it sucks big time and denies those of us who can't afford $4500 for a camera body a line of support. Canon pro services is not that picky- makes me wish that I had chosen Canon all those years ago

Well it was worth an ask. That does seem like a silly rule if you ask me.

Well, no one did. NPS membership requires two pro level bodies and three pro level lenses. It's designed to support full time working pros who uniformly have multiple bodies and lenses that represent the best gear out there. If you shoot for a living, I don't understand how you can call yourself a professional and shoot with outdated gear. If your income from photography won't support expenditures like that, then you are not what Nikon is looking for. Shooting  a dozen seniors and 5 weddings a year is not what they are looking for. Back when I joined, you had to be "invited" by Nikon to join because they had seen your work.

Well I guess I won't qualify for this for some time
