My backup D80 all of a sudden not allowing Aperture Changes??

I have a D80 (my original DSLR) that only has about 17,000 actuations on it and has been flawless.  However, all of a sudden, I'm noticing that no matter what lens I attach, I am not able to adjust the Aperture using the wheel.  Any thoughts?

I've swapped lenses from my D7100 (which on each lens ... the aperture can be adjusted as expected), performed a reset in the menu.  Checked all the menu items I could find that may be affecting it.

If the lens is 3.5 to 5.6 ... as I zoom from wide to telephoto, the aperture will change from 3.5 (wide) to 5.6 (telephoto).  But, I can't manually change it with the wheel.

My overall settings on it currently are:

ISO - Auto
WB - Auto
AF - On
Bracketing - Off
ECV - 0.0
Focus Mode - AF-S (although, I've tried all)

I've tried Aperture Mode as well as Manual Mode.  I've tried changing the WB to manual as well as the ISO.  I've turned Bracketing on and then back off.  I've taken sample shots and removed images.  I've formatted the memory card, etc.

Any thoughts or ideas are appreciated.

Thanks!

Figured it out ... for anyone else who may find a similar issue with their Shutter Speed or Aperture dials.  It was due to the battery grip.  I removed it and tried again and it worked immediately.  So, either my grip is having issues or it was a one time issue.

Thanks!

I've heard this happening, did you get the "--" or "F0" error showing up?

No, sure didn't. There was no indication that anything was wrong other than the f-stop not changing as the wheel was being turned.
