+1. It appears to be a Canonism. Or Canonical. Or something....

Now why is that?  Meaning, why hasn't Nikon or some of the others jumped on this?  Is it not in demand or simply perfected yet?

Canon 5D Mark II, 30D, 40D, 50 1.2L, 16-35 2.8L Mark II, 24-105 4L IS, 24-70 2.8L, 70-200 2.8L IS, 85 1.8, 4 x 580 EX(II)

Nikon has a fine AF system, why would they mess with that? They aren't a big enough company to jump on the gimmick stuff too often, me thinks....

As Ernesto pointed out Nikons AF system has been really good, except for a couple of hiccups with I think two models recently. I think the Canon dual pixel crap is some advertising garbage myself. Not that any of the manufacturers eve do that.

Also I know that this may sound like a Luddite kind of statement, but I buy my SLR type of cameras for still, as strange as that may sound to some. I do not care if it can shoot video. If and when I want to shoot video, I will buy a good dedicated video camera. Yes I realize that I am not one of the cool kids saying that, but it is a fact. It is also a fact that when you start making devices do too many things, they tend to fail at all.

+1 on the above, plus: why should they? Is there any compelling reason? Is the technology patented? Can it be licensed? What value would it add? What shortcomings exist in Nikon products that would be rectified by this technology?

Oh, and this applies to Sony, too. The may DSLRs that capture video.

At the point that it becomes demonstrably superior to other techniques, then it will get attention from other manufacturers.

Does that come with a 8-Track mount?
