It depends what it is for. As a straight portrait I would choose a vertical format, More space in front of the model than behind her, a bit more turn of the head towards the camera.A light from the top would liven up the hair.

I seldom ever critique anyone's photo's. I haven't a clue to often what folks are saying that do critique them. But I do know what I like and I'd have a problem with this. Way to much room behind the girl, vertical format with her back to the right side would be a lot better for me. And the deal about the light on her hair, her hair is for the most part a dark blob, light changes that by bringing out detail. Look at the difference between the hair at her shoulder and below and  the hair higher up.

She has a nice nose, but the ridge of the nose blends into the far cheek.  So some fussing with light direction and size is in order here.

First thought: "Where's she going?" (she seems too far to the left)

2nd thought... background = better white.

first, you need to work with your composition
second, the lighting effect can still be more creative.
third, her face doesnt show much details and highlights, improve make-up.
fourth, her hair- doesnt looks so artistic. fix it nicely or creatively.

BUT, she is a very beautiful woman. keep it coming.
