" Gergory Heisler: 50 Portraits: Stories and Techniques from a Photographer's Photographer " is a collection of amazing icon portraits and the stories behind them, written by Michael Bloomberg (yes, Mayor Bloomberg) and Mr. Heisler. This book is worth having just for the portraits. Among the 50 included are names like Muhammad Ali, Tim Burton, Liam Neeson, Joni Mitchell, Mick Jagger and Tina Turner, and the list goes on. You'll recognize many of these portraits right away because of the way they captured the essence of the subjects and became some of the most memorable celebrity portraits ever. It's much more than just a coffee table book, however. It's full of insights on technique that you can't get from the average teacher, as well as fascinating stories of Mr. Heisler's interaction with the celebrities he captured.
