If your photos are just viewed on monitor, does high MP matter?
Here we go again the hurrr durrz you wants the bagillion MPs. If you are viewing it on a monitor, then what is being made is adequate. Even on a very large monitor. The larger the monitor the further your viewing distance is supposed to be, to be viewed properly. It is the same as very large prints as well. Really large prints look like hell when you get up really close to. Get up on a billboard sometime, what looks like a picture no longer does when you are next to it, all you see if very large dots.
