:agree:
Mirrorless are still overpriced.  And many of the stores in my town refuse to stock them in any significant way.

Had to buy mine online.... Still doesn't measure up to my DSLR's either & would require a major investment in new gear...

I hate being behind the curve, so much that I already tossed my D800 in the trash......;)

gizmodo isn't exactly a photography website.

Anyway, the electronic viewfinders and more over the Autofocus on mirrorless cameras need to improve a lot before it can take over.

This author although makes some good points, is to premature with this article.  Perhaps in 5 years would be more appropriate IMO

Here we go again. I heve seen these articles about every single thing when the supposed new, bestest, hottest thing comes along. Anyone remember when they said the PCI bus was dead? It is the same with cameras, or any other product. I agree with many that they need a lot of improvement before they will be able to drop the mirror. And his one point about being able to see how the shot will look in an EVF I found amusing. Despite the fact that my mirror does not translate what the sensor will see, I know what my settings will actually do, so what I am seeing in the VF is not much different than what I get.

I'm with Joves on this, since mirrorless made it's introduction, these dome and gloom articles have surfaced all over the place about DSLR's.  DSLR's aren't going anywhere, at least for a few more years.

How we looking on that D800, if you moving to mirrorless, I can send you my address.     D800 isn't worth much with mirrorless cameras out.  ha ha ha
