8 year old Nikon D40 for $150!  It's only a 6MP camera, but it works and is small.  I'm going to use this for traveling and "I don't care" camera.  So if it gets scratched or bashed, oh well.  For $150 bucks, I couldn't say no!

I don't have anything old, just my D600.  Actually I think I have an old 35mm in the attic.

I still have my first digital camera, a D70s that has been converted for IR. Doesn't see a lot of use. My D700 is getting long in the tooth, but still a star performer.
I wish I could find it again, but a few years ago I came across a Russian photographer's website that featured some of the finest landscape images I've ever seen...all shot with a D40 and the original 18-200, f3.5/5.6 VR lens! More proof the camera plays a small role in the end product......You made a fine purchase.....;)

Why so serious?

I have an old 35mm Canon up in storage, not even sure of the model.  It was given to me a few years ago.

How much was that D70 to convert to IR?

I think I paid "Life pixel" $275.00 a few years ago. I'm sure its a bit more now, but they do a very good job....;)

If you wanted to convert the camera back, is a straight forward job?  I thought I read that once you convert a camera to IR, that it's a higher cost to convert back.  I didn't understand why that would be so.  But then again, considering you just dropped $275 to convert to IR, if converting it back would be more... I would really think twice about how much I will use the camera.
