What is good price range for product shots?

Can someone help me for price range for product shots taken?  I have a small local company that wants me to take photos of their mother boards for computers and I'm not sure how to price this out.   They have indicated that if these photos turn out good, then other products (they have hinted hundreds of products) would follow.

So, I don't want to price to high, and would be nice to make some money too.  How would you price this out?

How many hours is it going to take you to photograph the first round of items?  At the end of the day, the figure depends on the time you will put into getting and processing the shots.

It also depends upon their usage. Licensing images is about how they will be used. I would not set expectations in this first effort by charging a flat amount based on time to shoot and editing, then try to change down the road.

You might ask about how the intend to use the images, then go to getty images or shutterstock, or similar stock photo site, and price out an image for similar usage. Use that as your guide. You can even price it out, then offer them a significant discount to get yourself solidly in the door. But don't underprice the iniitial engagement, or you may never recover.

The biggest problem here is that the answer is always, "it depends." Pricing is tough.
