Mirrorless cameras should have better batteries

I don't know how you all feel with your mirrorless cameras, but my Sony A7 just sucks the juice so darn fast.  I went out shooting this morning and had to come back early because my one battery (ordering another one today), died of juice.  Would be nice that you can get some decent shooting time with a single battery.

How are the  other mirrorless camera batteries?

Providing power to LCD and EVF continuously takes a toll on the battery life. That is the reason that mirrorless models get less than half the shots of a DSLR. I guess if you ran your DSLR in live view 100% of the time, the figures would be closer. When LED screens are replaced by OLED, it may get better. In any case, improvement in batteries will not close the mirrorless/DSLR gap since the technology will be used in DSLR's.

Oh that guy was not at all biased. He made it sound as if Dslrs were total pieces of junk, stating that the whole mirror/shutter assembly was a majorly complex, and error prone way of getting an image. He makes the manufacturers sound as if they merely kept it that way out of laziness. Also he incorrectly says it is because of the mounts flange being the reason for certain aspects, when in reality it is because of the optics themselves, the flange has diddly to do with the placement of the components, sensor, or mirror wise. The only aspect that is affected would be the bodies mount from the rest of it. It was a funny read to me.
But you are correct in that the whole electronic VF is going to kill off your power faster. That is one of the problems with using so many electronic in the process, it all takes juice. Randy to tell you the truth I would get two extra batteries as backups. I do that now with my standard mechanical digital camera, which I find handy especially in the winter temps when having to swap out from cold drainage. Until they find the next miracle power storage source that lasts longer you are SOL.

Just got an EM-10 a couple of weeks ago and it eats batteries. I have 2 and am thinking of picking up a third. I'll know more after this next week. I'm on vacation and will finally get to use my new toy.

What a remarkably whiney article. Putting far too much value on the perceived advantages of the mirrorless systems, and too much emphasis on DSLR traits that are not necessarily bad things.

Enough with the EVF. Been there, used one, don't like 'em.
