Ink used on metal prints durable to be exposed to sun?

We have a sun room and I want to get some art on the wall, but fearful of putting canvas in there.  Will metal prints work for this?  What I really want to know is will the ink have a longer life before it starts to fade?

You need to ask the manufacturer. They are not all going to be the same. You probably want a product with a UV coating to help slow down the damage.

It's not like the product is going to fade overnight. Go for it and enjoy, then replace in the future if you need to. Think of it as a constantly rotating gallery.

I like metal prints, we have one in the house that was just picked up a few months ago.  It's a different look than canvas, but I'm not sure how it would hold up over time in the sun.  I'm guessing Gary is onto something with the UV coating.

With good ink, I believe you are going to get a good 5 to 7 years before the colors start to fade.

We picked up a couple from Bay photo last year, love the look.   Metal is the new canvas.

Just inquire as to the UV rating of the ink, or dye they are using. Also think about coated glass/polymer for the frame. Between both it should last a fair amount of time. But anything will eventually fade in the sun. It really depends on how much actual exposure it gets during the day as well, and the time of day.

It also depends on what colors are used in the print too.

Canon EOS 5D Mark II, 17-40mmL, 24-105mmL, 100-400mmL, 300mm f/4L IS, Sigma 12-24mm, 430EX, Extension tubes
