What features do you look for in a model

I saw another model related post here.  Just wondering when you're looking to hire a model, what features do you typically look for?  How much does the models past credentials mean to you?

I may not be the right person to posit an opinion here, as I don't hire models because I don't fashion or other contrived shoots.

But I think the only thing that matters is their "look". Credentials, smuhdentials.

Depends on the job or what look I was after.  Honestly there are so many areas to consider.  The easy answer is to say beautiful looks.  However there have been models I have photographed that didn't have what society would consider beautiful.  But they had character.

I like sharp facial features, which can be dramatic when playing with lighting

Very nice to meet you!

Their looks are important but I want a model with a sassy and fun personality! Someone also who is willing to take direction. Credentials are really not that important to me.

Credentials must come into it surely !!!, learning your trade is so important, people are more likely to hire a photographer with to hire a photographer with good credentials than someone who is inexperienced, so this must apply to models doesn't it ???.

I look for models that get hire regularly & repeatedly by photographer. I also look for professional models. A good professional model make a massive difference to the shoot and the final results, they take direction well, have great control & awareness of their body & expressions.

True, but also experience is good too.  Someone that can take a an idea and build off it.  A look and work in that area of pose.
