Anyone here shoot with mirrorless cameras at night?  How are these cameras at long exposures?  Actually do you have difficulty focusing in the dark with minimal light?

They work just fine. Here's an example from an Olympus OM-D E-M10:

Here are plenty of examples:

What lens did you use in that image Major?

Canon 7D, 15-85mm, 18-55mm, 70-200mm, 100mm Macro, Sigma 120-300mm, Speedlite 430EX II

A bad day at the race track is better than a good day in the office

These are pretty quick exposures compared to in my head I was thinking 2- 4 min exposures.  Thoughts?

Um, you were mistaken?

It turns out that you don't want to go any more than 30 seconds or you get star trails. 2 - 4 minutes is far too long for sharp point of light. At least without a rig that compensates for the rotation of the earth.

:agree: Gary is correct here.  So unless you are stitching star trails, you'll want to keep those exposure times much less.

70-200mm f2.8
50mm f1.4 & 50mm f1.8

As long as you have tripod and cable release, mirrorless cameras still have 'bulb' mode, so you are good to go.

No fancy equipment like that, just looking for a good mirrorless camera that will work well in longer exposures.
