Aspect ratio

With options in our cameras like 4:3,1:1,16:9 and of course default 3:2, do you ever change this around?

For my Micro 4/3 camera the default is 4:3.  But either way, I always leave the camera on its default, crop later.

I don't know that I can change it around in my camera. Sometimes it's better not to know you can do some things. I change that when I print if I want to change and I always do.

I figured as much, just wondering if anyone ever messes with this setting

The only circumstance I can think of is when there will be an immediate upload with no time for editing.  4:3 conforms to most print formats better than 3:2.  Wish my DSLR was 4:3 instead of 3:2.

If I want to change the aspect ratio, I'll just do that in post.

Well, I can't change it in mine, but I woudn't anyway. That seems silly to be doing in the camera.

Same here, I don't fuss with aspect ratio, unless in post

Never change, or have had a need to change

I use 3:2 as my perimeter for my compositions. Very seldom I will crop, then mostly to square or an odd panoramic.

It's rare that I'll change the aspect ratio, actually the only time I have done so was in print (post) for a set of square prints I made to go in sequence to one another.  I don't see any purpose doing this in the camera, it would be throwing data out the window that could be used in the future.
