What's the largest print you have had printed?

9 years 6 months ago #404774 by The Gardener
I've been taking notice of some print threads here and of course have been shopping around for a new printer.  Between the two of these, it got me thinking what size prints are most printing for their own use?  I know some people don't print much of their work and then there are others who printing copious amounts of prints for the sake of printing and having something to hold.

So let's hear it, what was your largest print you have printed for private use?

13x19, biggest printer I have. If I was in business doing landscape's I'd have a big printer. assuming the work flow justified it. If I wanted anything bigger right now, I have a nephew with a 24" Epson. Problem with that size printer for me is cost and room to set it up. My house isn't that big.

What printer do you have?  I'm looking for a good deal on some large format printers and have been getting tips on what others have been using.

HP - 130. It makes a beautiful print and sips ink. That being said, I would look for a used Epson or Canon large format if I wanted to print large prints.

How do you feel about Canon Pro 9500?

I don't have experience with the 9500 but my main printer now is the Canon Pixma Pro 100. This printer's output is outstanding. Color looks great and black and whites look great. You can manually adjust the black and whites to get the exact tone you want. I've had this one about a year and the prints can't be beat as far as I'm concerned. I've not had the clogging issues that I've had with my previous Epson printers. I still have the old Epson 2200 and it still prints a nice print but takes a few cleaning cycles to get it going. My HP 130 is not completely working now. It has a clogged "light cyan" ink line. I had a yellow one to block up before and I fixed it but the cyan line is proving to be more troublesome. I've never had to run a cleaning cycle on the Pixma Pro 100. Best printer or at least the most trouble free printer I've owned so far.

Come to think of it my first 13" printer was an HP and it would print 13x44. I assumed my present Cannon would do the same but it doesn't. Epson makes 13" printer's that will do 13x44. With that HP I have made several 12x30 print's. Someday when I have a bunch of money and nothing to do with it, I'm gonna get another printer that will do 13x44. My nephew has a big Epson, at least 24". It is heavy, takes up a lot of room and the ink tanks are expensive. You figure it out by the volume of ink in the tank and the ink is probably the same cost of close to it. I'm thinking he said they run about $150 a tank. Bet they will do a lot of 4x6's!
