When a client asks about your final deposit due date..

"Why do you collect the remaining balance upfront before the wedding starts"?  What do you tell them?  Now I know the reason is that everyone is sloshed with the bride and groom running off to their hotel suit or honeymoon directly after things.  Collecting upfront makes it easier.  But how do you translate that into something more "customer friendly"?

Well there is no way to sugar coat that.  It's to collect and insure you get paid before everyone scatters at the end of the wedding.  Weddings become a zoo... everyone is off around doing who knows what in drunken bliss.

You don't want to wait until the wedding day to collect. If you can't ask for money when its owed, find a job in manufacturing....

Why so serious?

Be politically correct with terms all you want, at the end of the day the reason is simple.  Once you have been screwed out of money from a client, you don't forget and you learn what to do and not to do really fast.
