I forgot to ask earlier, is there anything wrong with letting a DSLR batter charge overnight?

I do that all the time. Forgetful. I leave my camera on the bag with the battery clap open to remind me not to just grab the bag and run. Non of my batteries gave problems so far.

I use my battery's till they run out. Then replace with another one and put the dead one on the charger. Always carry a spare battery in a pocket.

I do it all the time.  Your battery charger if a newer one will move to trickle charge when it's done.

Sure why not. Chargers stop charging when they are done.

For the record, the issue is not whether it's a DSLR battery. The issue is how best to charge which kind of battery. First determine what storage technology is used by the battery in question, then search for how best to maintain that type of battery.

Then again, what do I know?

:agree: all true.  I have to say the only one I get creeped out is charging AA's.  Those always seem to be super hot when I pull them off the charger.

Generally speaking, it is not normal to charge overnight, no matter what kind of battery you charge. Since charging in this way, it is easy to damage the battery. I'm used to charge camera battery with 300w power inverter from bestek in 2 hours. Never try to charge it overnight. So you should pay much attention to this case, sometimes it will cause dangerous. Hope this point is useful to you.

Well most decent chargers will protect your battery and move into trickle charge
