Payment options do you offer to your clients

I just got the second bounced check last week in 6 months and the client can't be reached.  I'm thinking about dropping checks completely.  I have in my contract $30 fee for checks that come back ISF.  Honestly it's just not worth the head ache.

I'm thinking adding EFT.  I know in my online banking I can send money to people with just their phone number or email address.  I'm wondering how clients will feel about that method of payment.  Or PayPal?

What do you accept?

Get rid of checks!

Have you tried SquareUP? You can send cash or better yet, collect cash right on the spot. You can use the free credit card reader right on your phone or tablet. You can also send an invoice to a client they can pay with a debit or credit card.

I use it and it is great!! There is a CC processing charge however, but it beats bounced checks. You can even use it at a garage sale!

They are at: squareup.com (not an affiliate link)

Suggest you accept checks only from folks you know. You might also consider taking payment at order time, not delivery. A very common practice, and you can confirm the check clears before you hand over the goods.

You should have an account set up with one of the mobile credit card processors (SquareUp, Paypal, Intuit) which should also allow you to invoice electronically and let your customer pay online from home, etc. If you've registered as a business with your state, you should have had millions of CC processors approach you with an offer for a terminal, for free. At least, that happened to me.

Depending upon how much they owe you, you could always put a lien on their home. You'd get paid eventually :-)
