Buying filters from overseas ebay sellers?

9 years 1 day ago #433130 by Fiesta!
I'm noticing a lot of deals on filters on ebay, the catch that I'm seeing is that they are from China.  I'm a little reluctant to order because China clones so much!  Has any of you ordered filters from such ebay sellers?

What was your experience like?

I know someone that bought a Chinese knock off ten stop filter, and he was not pleased. Its in the trash and he now owns a Lee Big Stopper....after a three month wait of course......

Why so serious?

I wouldn't.  Man, you just never know what you are getting from over there.

Evaluate the risk, and compare a few bucks you will save. I'd recommend buying local

Nope, not worth the risk IMO.  Just buy from B&H

Absolutely not.  I bought a tripod from a seller from China a few years ago and what I got was not what was described in the ad.  The kicker is eBay siding on the seller and wouldn't give me a refund.

Risky business, I personally wouldn't.  But then again, I live in NYC, so I just walk to B&H or Adorma
