Staying in shape for wedding and other on location photography gigs?

8 years 11 months ago #438222 by Jorge Abril
I've been an wedding and event photographer for almost 4 years now and one thing I'm finding harder to make time for with my busy schedule is working out.  We all know, a loaded photography bag can get up there on weight.  Not to mention all the other gear we need to tote around when on gigs.

I don't know about you, but I'm feeling it.  My joints, my muscles get sore quicker.  I really need to find some method of getting in some exercise.  What I was hoping to find out here is what everyone else is doing?  What's your method of exercise and how often are you doing it?

Jorge

We go for morning 3 mile walks on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  We get our blood moving, just us time and reflection time.  We leave our cell phones home too.  No technology.

I do a sit up every morning (unless I slept standing) and walk to the mail box six times a week, about forty yards round trip. Kidding aside, (which I wasn't) weddings or not its a good idea to get and stay in shape. When I get my new bionic knee I'll be at it again.....;)

Why so serious?

These are all good ideas.  Might I suggest you get a work out journal, after a couple weeks of staying on top of this, you'll be programmed and hooked.
