Any apps for the Apple Watch good for photographers?

The timer is really good at telling you when a 30 second exposure is over.    LOL     (and my watch will come in 3 days)

ABSOLUTELY.  I would not buy the watch for photography.  I am buying it because a) I can afford the cheapest one made and b) I want to play with it.... But I don't think it will rock my world.   (On the other hand, I am surprised what smartphones do now).  I have little doubt software will come, but I still would not find it hard to use the phone.  PLUS...the next version of the watch will have better hardware.....

That would require a way for it to connect to your camera.  I guess some cameras could do it, but most cameras require extra hardware for this.
