I`m a Ir fanatic,it`s not for everyone especially the color Ir where any colors is acceptable.Lifepixel and Maxmax are the two most well known but there are others that will convert your camera at a lower price.There are converted cameras on sale at Ebay,,type in infrared cameras....Nunya wrote: What do you think about IR in general? Yep,out goes the warranty.Price varies from converting companies and models.Right now there is one available at keh.com but you will have to call to find out which filter is installed.Addicted2Photos wrote: What do they charge for converting a camera? I'm guessing that voids out warranty?

I had them convert a Canon 20D, and I think they did a great job.
IR is fun. I enjoyed shooting IR film, so I figured I'd enjoy shooting IR digital. IR digital is a lot better! Unless you've got a problem with the size of the camera I'd suggest finding an older used or refurbished DSLR for the conversion. You can find the "obsolete" entry level models for a couple hundred dollars.
