That's not a link. Why not?

It's a link now.

Suggest: don't use a secure URL when you don't have a certificate. You are using ZenFolio; you don't need https: to get there.

You do good work, but honestly, the non-level horizons are extremely annoying. Very few of those images was properly upright, and the one intentional (the red call box by the road)... well, that didn't work for me at all.

But your composition and editing are quite nice.  Just askew.

I would like to see the site but I get a warning about a security certificate instead.

Thanks for the critique garyrhook...not that I requested your opinion. FYI Gary....In some cases the photographs were taken at angles for a reason i.e I was not standing directly perpendicular to the subject matter, or maybe because it was not possible because of an obstacle, a river, a wall, a drop, or for another reason.

In some cases I took the shots as they are because I like them. Where I live the countryside is undulating and in some cases mountainous.

I thought I would give you my opinion on your images. I have noticed that not all of your shots are correct in terms of straight horizons.... I also do not like the fact that your images (to me) have limited DOF. Most are poorly composed with important highlight detail blown out accompanied by grain and digital artifacts the size of golf balls (just my opinion). I have been shooting landscapes with more interest over the last 16 months and I intend to get better at it, and I will !!!

Anyway thanks for your valuable input. I mean, after all I can see by your avatar information (and portfolio) that you call yourself, the photo guru. Maybe I will invest in a spirit level...Ciao

Hmm...

Then I'm unclear as to the reason for sharing, if not to garner reactions and feedback. If all you were interested in was compliments, you could have stated so.

FYI Gary....In some cases the photographs were taken at angles for a reason i.e I was not standing directly perpendicular to the subject matter, or maybe because it was not possible because of an obstacle, a river, a wall, a drop, or for another reason.

Okay. For me horizons can be leveled in post. And again, I (apparently mistakenly) concluded that responses were being requested. Apologies for misunderstanding.

In some cases I took the shots as they are because I like them. Where I live the countryside is undulating and in some cases mountainous.

Okay. That's fine. You are entitled to your choice; just own it. I don't like non-level horizons. It's a personal thing that I own.

I thought I would give you my opinion on your images.

Um, okay. I'm always up for feedback. My images suck.

I have noticed that not all of your shots are correct in terms of straight horizons....

Sometimes i overlook fixing a horizon, yes. Please bring specific images to my attention, and I will make corrections.

I also do not like the fact that your images (to me) have limited DOF. Most are poorly composed with important highlight detail blown out accompanied by grain and digital artifacts the size of golf balls (just my opinion).

Ouch.

You do realize the DoF is a choice, and we don't all have to agree? As for poorly composed, again, if you would take the time to specifically comment on an image, that would be of much higher value to me, as well as to others here.

As for grain and digital artifacts, allow me educate you.

When you upload a digital file to PT, or to FB, or many (most) other sites, the image is highly compressed in a JPG format, and ends up looking pretty poor (compared to the original). The images in my PT albums all suffer from this problem, and there's absolutely nothing I can do about it, no matter how much someone may criticize my images.  Can't happen.

Not my circus, not my monkeys.

I have been shooting landscapes with more interest over the last 16 months and I intend to get better at it, and I will !!!

I'm pretty sure that I wrote, above: "But your composition and editing are quite nice." I would normally classify that as a compliment. Not petulance-evincing snarkiness. I guess I should apologize for appreciating your work.....?

Anyway thanks for your valuable input. I mean, after all I can see by your avatar information (and portfolio) that you call yourself, the photo guru. Maybe I will invest in a spirit level...Ciao

Again, allow me to educate you.

The titles that show up beneath the avatar are assigned by the PT forum software based on points and activity. I have no control over that, either. Most folks find them charming and amusing. At least, folks that do more than show up, advertise their website, then appear to get bent out of shape when they receive what they (mayhaps unwittingly) requested.

But hey, if you feel better after lashing out, good on you, mate.
