Bay Photo Metal Print
Getting high-quality prints online requires that you work with a reputable photo lab. For many folks, Bay Photo is a prime choice.
In doing some research for an upcoming $100 metal print shootout, I Googled “metal prints” and saw that Bay Photo Lab was among the top results.
I’ve purchased prints from Bayphoto before but never metal, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Read more about the best photo canvas prints companies on our website PhotographyTalk.com.
In this Bay Photo metal print review, I’ll discuss my thoughts on the print I ordered. I also offer a detailed look at Bay Photo Lab.

Bay Photo Metal Print Review
As I noted earlier, I ordered a Bay Photo metal print as part of an upcoming $100 metal print shootout.
The print arrived on time and was packaged extremely well. There were no issues with damage, so I could unbox the print and immediately set about inspecting the quality.
I ended up getting a 16x24 print that was priced at $94.50. With $14.99 for shipping and $7.32 in taxes added in, the total came to $116.81.
As you can hopefully see in the images above (it’s extremely difficult to photograph metal prints due to their reflectivity), the print has great detail and resolution. In fact, I’d rate the detail and resolution of this print as a 9 out of 10.
On the color accuracy front, Bay Photo added more red. Evidently this is common practice for Bay Photo, so just be aware of that if you order a print.
Overall, I have to say that I was impressed. This isn’t the best print of the bunch (you’ll learn more about that in the upcoming $100 metal print shootout), but it’s toward the top of the pack for sure.
Bay Photo metal prints have the dyes infused directly into the sheet of aluminum, and because of that, the print has a remarkable luminescence. The colors are bright and vibrant, and as I noted above, the detail and resolution are fantastic.
I’ll have more details on my Bay Photo metal print coming up soon, so stay tuned for my metal print shootout!
