Choosing a messenger bag is often a dance with either durability or style. That's not the case with the Tenba DNA 15. Constructed with a 600 Denier Helix material, the bag is durable and weather-sealed, yet the smooth material is very sleek looking and comes in a variety of colors. The DNA is a bag with durability but without the military grade look. Besides the happy medium between construction and style, the Tenba DNA offers quick access, which really is the primary reason for choosing a shoulder bag over a backpack in the first place. The flap closure is double-secured with magnetic snaps and velcro, or if you find the flap gets in the way, there's a top zipper for easy access as well. The bag can hold a DSLR with a 70-200mm lens attached as well as 2-3 additional lenses, a flash, accessories and 15" laptop. The padded camera insert is removable, so it can double as an everyday messenger bag too. There are two carrying options: the shoulder strap or a briefcase-style handle.
While the Tenba is a solidly-built bag, some consumers say they wish there was a bit more padding on the shoulder strap. The bag also doesn't include a trolley strap for easily attaching to your wheeled luggage. Those are some very minor issues though, and the Tenba overall offers an excellent blend of style and function for photographers who don't want to choose between the two.
