A Reddit user, lachsox, in Hungary just shared a daunting story about why you should never trust your landlord: their landlord installed a 360-degree camera and audio recording device in their house.
What's worse, the landlord said they needed to do "maintenance" which is why lachsox let them in at all.

Many Reddit users hypothesized about the legality of something like this in Hungary, with one writing: "that's gotta be illegal."
One Redditor responded, "It is in almost any developed country."
Another said, "I live in a sh*tty third world country and it's illegal here too."
While many users suggested his intent was sexual, others questioned why the camera was placed on top of the fridge, overlooking the kitchen, if that's the case.
Other users suggested it was just an overly critical landlord worried about his renter hurting his property.
This is the first time I've heard about a landlord placing a security camera in their long-term renters home, but the issue is pervasive with short-term rentals.
AirBnB has been combatting the problem for years.
This just adds to the list of places you can't feel safe, including your own house.
