Drone Photographers Released from Iranian Prison

The travel photography duo, known as T.W.O., have finally been released from a prison in Iran after they were arrested nearly 1 month ago for flying a drone near a military installation without a permit.

The Karakoram Highway. The highest paved international road in the world topping out at around 4800m, and somewhere we had been looking forward to getting to for months. . The photographers were told upon their arrest they could be facing up to 10 years in prison. The families of the photographers claimed it was all a misunderstanding. 

It was reported by the Daily Mail that the Iranian government was trying to use the two photographers, Jolie King and Mark Firkin, as "bargaining chips." An Iranian woman had been arrested in Australia, the home of Firkin, in 2017 and Iran was supposedly going to use the photographers for a trade.

And, as reported by the Guardian, that's exactly what happened. 

 Australia's government continues to deny that a prison swap took place.
