Overhead is often much the same - but different

G'day all

Overnighting at Lake Cargelligo in central New South Wales (about 800km inland from Sydney) at the moment and decided it was time -again- to do a startrails pic.   Here's the result

img\def

Panny FZ camera; 200 images of 30 secs; F2,8; ISO-800; camera @ 24mm FF equiv
images stacked using software from " www.Startrails.de "

Also got a satellite plus several meteorites - not always seen in my pics

As always, feedback welcome

Fantastic ,  Phil.

Crikey !  200 images,  would have taken almost 2 hours to get all that ?  Out in the freezing cold of the far-west .

G'day db
One of the beaut things about travelling the outback in Oz via the motorhome is the comfort that travels with you  :)

With the camera battery fully charged and the tripod just outside the door, I can read my book while having my cuppa (or something stronger) and every so often pop outside to listen to the 'click-clunk' as it stops and restarts each exposure

On this occasion however, I was parked about 1/2-km away from houses, and sometime during the exposure one of the local dogs came past - and being dark I did not see him.  I can say 'him' as when I went to collect the camera and tripod some 2-1/2 hours after I started, I noticed a large 'squirt' high up on one of the tyres !!

The blighter must also have wandered between the tripod legs and bumped things slightly, as if you look closely at the above image you will see a few jiggles to each circular star movement
