Do you use manual focus much?

Not really. I practice with it because I think it would be good to learn, but I currently suck at it.

I've mostly always used manual focus, I have various mechanical film cameras that I use. When I started using a digtial camera I used all auto settings, then went to all manual. I've shot sports using manual focus, I guess if you get enough practice in time you get good at it.

If I'm having trouble getting something in focus, I try to find a line or an edge in the scene to focus on, then reframe the shot. Or sometimes I just put the camera down momentarily, then refocus.
