When it limits you or it dies is my motto.  If you're somebody named "Stealthy Ninja", it's when a new camera comes out.  Doesn't matter the brand.

I like to change cameras so I can avoid cleaning the sensor. So as soon as a speck of dust gets on it I buy a new one.

Only if you can handle the Xtreme colours and radical image quality.

You Nikon guys wouldn't be used to the awesome,  it takes some time to adjust.

Xtreme without an E is too much for me.

Fuji has been raising the bar lately, their new X- Pro 2 looks promising.  Priced pretty much what I expected and it's a temptation for me right now.  Just need to buy it when my wife isn't looking.  I've been spending a lot on my hobbies lately.  I promised I would let the buying cool down for a little bit.

Only when my existing is broken or slowing down.  Finding a good deal on a new camera certainly doesn't hurt the situation too.

I'd say when my bank account allows for it! And if I actually need it...no point in flushing money down the tubes for something that doesn't do more than my current camera, right?

No set timing.   Usually when my old is just not doing the job and I need a replacement.  Generally the new will have to be on sale or good deal.
