I have two older Tamron auto focus lenses for a Nikon N50 35mm film style camera. Looking to purchase a Nikon digital DSLR camera and hoping my old lenses still work to save a couple of bucks..  Thanks

The lens maker possibly published compatibility data on that.

Light is free… capturing it is not!

Certain F-mount lenses can be used on modern equipment. Nikon publishes compatibility information on their site for each camer model, so you can do the research before purchasing. While their info is for Nikon lenses, you can likely figure it out.

That said, they'll probably be manual focus lenses on a DSLR.

If they are screw drive autofocus lenses, then it will depend on the camera body. Most newer bodies don't have the built in motor to drive the lenses. If they are not screw dive, they will most likely work but not guaranteed. Again this is more dependent on the camera body choice. Since they are a Nikon mount, they will always work in manual focus.
