Cleaning the sensor - should I try doing this?

2 months 2 weeks ago #685898 by Pat White
I've spoken about doing this before, but never got around to doing it.  All in all, I have no experience with cleaning a sensor and frankly I have butterflies thinking about screwing up my sensor.  I've read both online that it's not that hard, and I have read you need to be careful so you don't mess up your sensor.  Regardless it does create a little anxiety.

Are you cleaning your own sensor to save a few bucks?

Yes, I do though it is not a matter of money but having it
clean anytime, anywhere. I have the advantage that I use
exclusively DSLRs so I never got that kind of dirt on it.

I use the EYELEAD products

I was going to suggest the same.  Watch some YouTube videos and take your time, you'll be just fine.  It's not that difficult.

Nope, decided to have a pro do it.  Couldn't get the comfort where I would needed to in order to do it myself.

thanks anyway!

I've been told a nearby camera store charges $50 for an expert cleaning and I think of it as a deal considering the potential harm that could be caused. The sensor is one of the most costly parts inside the camera and supplanting it very well may be restrictively costly.
