Why chromatic aberration apears only at the edges?

3 years 3 weeks ago #713003 by Whateverrr
This is not a beginners question.
I have already asked it in 2 forums with very poor results.
I know what chromatic aberration is and i also know how and why it is created.
If you are a smartass, if you don't have the mental ability to understand my question or your answer doesn't include the word "edges" in it, than please just don't answer.

I'm going to guess your post is turning off people.  Turn down your pretentiousness while your hand is out for help.  I have an opinion, but your post rubs the wrong way.  Just saying.

I don't read, Mike, any kind of pretentiousness but the developing
of a "fed up with BS" attitude.

Obviously not.

Why chromatic aberration apears only at the edges? Edges have two very
specific qualities: chrominance and luminance values. Chromatic aberrations
will affect more the chrominance values as, in a very similar way, over done
texture and sharpening will touch edges with luminance differentiations.

Translated from French, I hope it still makes sense.

Light is free… capturing it is not!

G'day whatever

I studied photographic optics during my tertiary studies and would normally feel welcome to offer you a response -but- the tone of your post and question suggests that you do not want to hear me or others

Sorry mate - you've missed out with this one
