Full frame lens on crop sensor camera?

I have a Z6, this question isn't for me, but a friend.  I don't know the answer so asking for her.  If you have a crop sensor camera, you can use full frame lenses on it right?  But if you have a full frame camera, you can't use crop sensor lenses on it.  Am I understanding this correctly?

Sure you can!

The only consequence will be a heavy vignetting given DX lenses
are not projecting as wide a circle image at the rear as FX do.

Light is free… capturing it is not!

Thank you.  So just to clarify, are you saying when you use DX on FX is where problems come with the vignetting?

Yes, exactly. :P

Some DX zoom lenses may cover the full FX format at certain focal lengths. I don't know which lenses or focal lengths.

The wider angle settings on a DX zoom are where you may have vignetting issues.
