What do you say when you take a group shot?

Love your thought process....

I know it that was my first thought as well though. I would probably have them say cheese or fleas.

I stick my hand in the air and say: Everyone look at me.

No 1, 2, 3 etc. that just warns people the flash or whatever is coming, I just shoot when I see most people are ready. I do shoot 2 or 3 shots though, then I can photoshop out any blinks with a non blink...

In Hong Kong people like to say:

A, B, C, D, E (with the E elongated so you get a really cheesy smile, lol).

One piece of advice that I read from a pro, can't remember who or where, and that I have tried successfully myself, is to have everyone in the group close their eyes really tight. Tell them you will count 1,2,3 and to open their eyes on 3. Do that, wait one more count - a silent 4 - then take the shot.

Chris

Great Idea! :)

It is what it is.

I'm glad this question was posted and all these great answers. I was recently ask to take a family portrait and I've been wondering how I could get everyone's attention when I'm ready to snap the picture.
