My Images Are Dull

I cannot seem to get my images as crisp as some of you do. They look dull and they lack color. Can anyone help me fix this problem?

What camera are you shooting with?...Many times you need to go into the "menu" setting on the camera & tweak the saturation & sharpness settings to your liking. Then again, it could be what you are trying to capture & the settings you are using along with the ambient light level & the lens...If you post an image you think is dull (along with the exif data), then we can better advise you...

Well in post processing you need to level your photos. Each photo need a true back and true white set. it will help make photos pop.

Try subjects that are well lit, study the "Sunny 16 rule," learn to read histograms, and experiment with different f/stop settings for additional or less light. Also, slow shutter speed will cause movement blurring - by the subject or camera. Only study, together with practice out in the field, will really help you to get sharper images.

And, taking notes about the settings and conditions for each shot is an excellent field technique to increase your chances of getting sharp, correctly exposed images.

Hope this helps,

I'm sure if you posted some examples, the great folks here could help you find your way :)
