When I was studying at the art institute, it was common for every young wannabe artiste to take their gothic girlfriend (or boyfriend) to a graveyard and do a portrait in black and white infrared. They then printed it themselves (with poor tonal scales) and hung it in a prime location in their "studio" (err one bedroom apartment) and thought it the best work EVAR!
Took about two full decades before they put in a box in their garages, out of sight.
